今回は特別に値段を抑えてほしいと頼まれました。

そこで、今回はヤシの葉を小さくしました。

This pattern was a request of Mr. Ogawa of the University of Hawaii.

この図柄はハワイ大学の小川先生のリクエストでした。

He is teaching the tea ceremony in the University of Hawaii.

小川先生はハワイ大学で茶道を教えられています。

It is the Urasenke Hawaii seminar last year.

It was my original work which Hounsai Genshitsu Sen Previous Grand Master had.

昨年の裏千家ハワイセミナーです。

千玄室大宗匠が持たれていたのがオリジナルです。

As for the original work, the coconut tree was expressed dynamically.

オリジナルの作品はヤシの木がダイナミックに表現されていました。

The red of the evening glow of this teacup is a color of recollections.

この茶碗の♪夕やけの赤い色は想い出の色です。

I think that ceramic art and cooking are alike.

陶芸と料理は似ていますね。

I think that material and technology are the most important by ceramic art.

材料と技術が一番重要です。

The form and pattern of ceramic art are like dishing up of cooking.

陶芸における形と図柄は料理の盛り付けのようなものです。

The designer whom the person of administration introduces observes

only a form and a pattern.

行政の人が紹介するデザイナーは形と図柄だけを注目します。

How to make the pottery which is evaluated by people and sells.

人々に評価され、売れる陶磁器を作る方法。

I think that we use an original material and original technology .

独自の材料と技術を使うことだと思います。

This is my original pink and red.

But these colors became termination of manufacture.

これは私のオリジナルのピンクと赤です。

でもこれらの色が製造中止となりました。

I have to develop new pink and new red.

新しいピンクと赤の開発です。

Of course, I use these new colors for the tableware of Hawaii.

もちろんこれら新色はハワイの店の食器に使います。

I made many tea-things into which fire is put today.

今日私は茶道具の火入を多く作りました。

These are used for the thing of a return of the congratulation

of a certain tea ceremony's teacher.

これらはある茶道の先生のお祝いのお返しに使われます。

 These are finished goods.

これらが完成品です。

This is a tool for firing a cigarette.

火入とは煙草に火を点けるための道具です。

This goes into the tray of a set of cigarette tools.

これは煙草道具一式が入る煙草盆に入ります。

In the tea ceremony,

a position with the tray of this cigarette is a position

where a main guest sits down.

茶事ではこの煙草盆が置かれている位置が、

正客（メインゲスト）が座る位置となります。

By the way,

The restaurant in Hawaii does not need to care about the smoke of a cigarette.

Of course, the restaurant in the United States is prohibition of smoking.

ところで、

ハワイの店は♪煙草のけむり　を気にする必要はありません。

もちろんアメリカ合衆国のレストランは禁煙です。

Two young men who I met in Miyazaki have asked my studio yesterday.

私が宮崎で出会った二人の若者が、

A left person is a musician, Mr. Shigehiro .

左の彼は音楽家の重廣さん　です。

A central person is Mr. Ryo Ishikawa.

中央は石川遼さんです。

彼はシャンソン歌手の倉井さん です。

They are the good young men who like pottery.

二人とも焼物好きの好青年です。

We made a promise that we met again in July.

７月に会う約束をしました。

I looked at Mr. RICHARD MILGRIM's private exhibition yesterday.

私は昨日、利茶土ミルグリムさんの個展に行きました。

The place was Kyoto Takashimaya.

場所は京都高島屋です。

It is a corner of the tea ceremony beside the hall.

添え釜の様子です。

There was Richard's wife at the hall.

個展会場には利茶土（リチャード）さんの奥さんがおられました。

She was entertaining the visitor、

  very smiling.

奥さんはお客さんの接待をして、

とても朗らかでした。

Now , about me,

さて私に関しては、

For 20 years after we get married,

I have always gone abroad alone.

It is thanks to an understanding of my wife that I exist now.

私たち夫婦が結婚して２０年間、

私は常に一人で外国に行ってきました。

今の私が存在するのは私の妻の理解のお陰です。

However, probably, my wife regards me as such.

しかしながら、おそらく家内は私のことを次のように思っているでしょう。

The defense game of Tada, a woman boxing world champion, was successful.

女子ボクシング世界チャンピオンの多田選手の防衛が成功しました。

世界ボクシング協会（ＷＢＡ）女子ミニマム級タイトルマッチ１０回戦は２４日にトリニダード・トバゴで行われ、チャンピオンの多田悦子（フュチュール）は同級暫定王者リア・ラムナリン（トリニダード・トバゴ）と引き分け、３度目の防衛に成功した。

　２８歳の多田は２試合連続の引き分けで、戦績は８戦６勝（２ＫＯ）２分け。前半は多田が左ストレートを当てて優位に立ち、中盤以降はラムナリンが巻き返した。ジャッジ３人がすべて引き分けと採点した。

　多田悦子の話「現地在住の日本人のサポートのおかげ。後半ひるみそうになった時に「悦ちゃん頑張れ」という声が聞こえて前に出られた。気持ちで前進した」（共同）

Now, I and Gilo Gilo are due to open a restaurant in Hawaii this year.

さて私とギロギロは今年ハワイにレストランをオープンする予定です。

The famous food of Miyazaki is

the charcoal burner of native chicken.

宮崎で有名な食べ物といえば、

地鶏の炭火焼です。

 We cut this with scissors and eat it.

これをハサミでカットして食べます。

The spice of this orange is dried yuzu and pepper mixed with salt.

このオレンジ色の薬味は柚子胡椒です。

I was surprised at this.

This is a family restaurant of vegetable mixture noodles.

これにもビックリ。

チャンポン麺のファミレスです。

So many countries, so many customs.

所変われば品変わる。　ですね。 

My recollections in Miyazaki

宮崎での思い出。

Although the exhibition has not finished yet --

展示会はまだ終わっていませんが...。

This is the Miyazaki phoenix country club.

ここは宮崎フェニックスカントリークラブです。

The parking lot here seems to be Hawaii.

駐車場もハワイの様です。

The clubhouse here is like a museum.

クラブハウスはまるで博物館です。

There was also a model of Tiger Woods's palm.

タイガーウッズの手型もありました。

 The head of the driver of Johnny Miller (The 1st champion) is small.

ジョニーミラー（第１回優勝者）のドライバーのヘッドは小さいですね。

The training place here is also very large.

練習場もだだっ広いです。

Incidentally I am not playing.

ちなみにプレーはしていません。

Two persons' exhibition in Miyazaki started.

宮崎での二人展が始まりました。

It is Mr. Shionaka's lecture scenery.

塩中さんの講演の様子です。

We do our best and sell.

頑張って売って来ます。

It is a continuation of the menu in April of Gilo Gilo.

枝魯枝魯の４月の献立の続きです。

This is fresh slices of a California herring.

ニシンの刺身です。

As for this, the surface is roasted.

表面が炙られています。

This sauce is soy sauce of kidney beans.

ソースはインゲン豆の醤油です。

This is a main dish of this month.

今月のメインです。

This is the dish which the cherry salmon steamed.

桜マスの桜の香り蒸しです。

These sauce are sauce of a tomato, and sauce of a cauliflower.

ソースはトマトのソースとカリフラワーのソースです。

This gelee is the flavor of cherry blossoms.

ジュレは桜風味です。

Now, 

I arrived in Miyazaki for the exhibition.

さて私は展示会のため宮崎に到着しました。

I am going to do the report from tomorrow.

また明日報告します。

I challenged the limit of my physical strength.

体力の限界に挑戦しました。

I turned the potter's wheel all the time

from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

午前８時から午後１１時まで

ろくろを回しっぱなしです。

My physical strength is still OK.

まだまだ体力は大丈夫みたいです。

I am going to go to Miyazaki

to take an business trip of work tomorrow.

さあ明日は宮崎出張だ！！

The native chicken of Miyazaki is waiting for me.

宮崎の地鶏が私を待っています。

I attended the party of Mr. Yoshizawa

of the Kyoto newspaper today.

本日は京都新聞の

吉澤さんのパーティーに行きました。

Mr. Yoshizawa is a famous person,

I can attend his party and think that I am honorable.

吉澤さんは有名な人で、

このパーティーに出席でき光栄に思います。

He is abundant in connections.

To the attendant of this party,

Religion, Art, Culture,University

Many each persons were present.

吉澤さんは人脈が豊富で、

今回の出席者には、

宗教、文化、芸術、大学

各関係者が多く出席されてました。

And there are three ceramists.

そんななか陶芸家は３人の出席です。

Mr. K famous in Kyoto, and Ms. S.

京都で有名な美術陶芸家のKさんと

女流陶芸家のSさん。

They and I are youngmen.

私も含め若手です。

I felt Mr. Yoshizawa's expectation.

吉澤さんの期待を感じてます。

Artists say.
"Craftsmen do not have imaginative power."

芸術家（作家）は言います。

「職人には想像力がない。」

Craftsmen say.
"Artists do not have reproducibility."

職人は言います。

「作家は同じものが作れない。」

I was often asked as follows by others, when young.

私は若い時よく次のように尋ねられました。

"Are you an artist or craftsman?"

「あなたは作家ですか、それとも職人ですか？」

30 years ago,I thought that imaginative power

and reproducibility were required for a future ceramist .

３０年前、私はこれからの陶芸家には

作家の想像力と職人の再現性が必要だと感じてました。

And I have polished the power of both former.

そして今まで両方を磨いてきました。

I am a craftsman today.

155 teacups, 160 rice bowls.
I made 315-piece pottery in one day using the potter's wheel.

This is my new record.

今日私は職人です。

湯呑１５５個、飯椀１６０個。

ろくろで１日に３１５個焼物を作りました。

自己新記録です。

This photograph is yesterday's Sakurajima.

昨日の桜島です。

I put the volcanic ashes of Sakurajima in glaze.

今回この桜島の火山灰を釉薬の色材として使用しました。

 One is a yellow portion of this tea bowl.

一つはこの茶碗の黄色い（茶色）部分です。

Another is this thin blue glaze.

もう一つはこの水指の青白磁の釉薬です。

The color changes depending on how to burn even if it uses the same material.

同じ原材料を使っても、焼成方法で釉薬の色が変わります。

I am going to report details later.

詳しいことはまた後日！！

Kagoshima has many delicious foods.

鹿児島は食材の宝庫です。

The portion of chicken of fat is mellow like a duck.

鶏肉の脂肪の部分が鴨のように濃厚で芳醇です。

This is a black sea bream.
The milt of this was delicious.

これは黒鯛です。

白子が美味でした。

This is the homemade deep-fried dishes

with which vegetables were mixed with the fish.

これは自家製のさつま揚げです。 

This is a pork cutlet of a Berkshire pig.

This can be cut with chopsticks. .

これは黒豚のトンカツ。

箸で切ることができます。

And the scale of the rate is attached to the glass of white distilled liquor.

そして焼酎のグラスには割合の目盛りがついています。

This is a true place.

これぞ本場です。

I am in Kagoshima from yesterday.

昨日から鹿児島です。

The reason is for two persons' exhibition with Mr. Shionaka.

塩中さんとの２人展を行ってます。

I worry about excessive drinking of white distilled liquor.

焼酎の飲みすぎを心配してます。

The score of my golf yesterday,

昨日のゴルフのスコアは、

It was 43 and 45.

４３と４５でした。

We would like to fly a ball in the distance,

                     to bring a ball close to a hole,

                     to put a ball into a hole.  

ボールを飛ばしたい、

　　　　　寄せたい、

　　　　　入れたい。

However, I think that the causes of a mistake are such feeling.

これらの感情がミスの原因になると思います。

It is important to make impending work exact.

大切なのは目の前の（ボールを打つ）仕事をすることでしょう。

I tried new swing yesterday.

昨日は新しい打ち方を試みました。

It was grasping a golf club soft.

ゴルフクラブをゆるゆるに握ったことです。

The ball which I hit flew in the distance correctly more.

すると私の打ったボールはより遠くに正確に飛んだのです。

I think that all the things are the same as this.

世の中万事この感覚だと思います。

The golf competition  of the Kyoto young people's association object meeting (2010)　was held today.

本日京都青年団体会議年年歳歳２０１０の

ゴルフコンペが開催されました。

I am going to report details tomorrow.

I won the victory.

ちなみに優勝しましたよ！！

枝魯枝魯の献立の続きです。

This is soup of this month.

今月の椀物です。

The foods of this soup are the steamde dishes with

which sea bream, tofu, vegetables, and egg were mixed.

鯛、豆腐、野菜、のけんちん蒸しが具として入っています。

This soup is the thick, starchy sauce of shrimps and green peas.

すじ海老、スナップエンドウのあんかけです。

I made Tochin today.
I am going to report this later.

今日はトチンを作ったのですが、

これについてはまた後日報告します。

I went to Kanazawa.

金沢に行きました。

It is The exhibition of the pottery of Kyoto and porcelain of Kutani.

京焼×九谷焼の展示会です。

We would like to hold in Kyoto next time.

次回は京都での開催といきたいですね。

I went to the Kanazawa castle and Kenrokuen Garden after that.

その後金沢城、兼六園に移動。

 The bloom of a cherry tree was in the best state.

桜が満開でした。

And I went to a.k.a.

そして夕食、

枝魯枝魯プロデュースのa.k.aに移動。

This restaurant has tried fusion of cooking and pottery. 

料理と器の融合を実践しているお店です。

 He is Mr. Gori of a cook.
It is also interesting to compare this restaurant with Gilo Gilo.

料理人のゴリさんです。

ここと枝魯枝魯を比較するのも面白いですよ。

I think that each has the feature.

それぞれに特徴があります。

   This photograph is a cherry tree beside this restaurant.

This is the first small bowl that steamed the raw firefly squid.

先付けは蒸したホタルイカです。

This seasoning is Ishiru.

調味料はいしるです。

Into there, a bamboo shoot and Citrus tamurana are contained.

筍と日向夏（みかん）も入っています。

This sauce mashes rape blossoms.

ソースは菜の花のすり流しです。

From the right,

Sushi of a rare bonito. The lily bulb of vanilla flavor.
The omelet of foie gras, the sauce of a grapefruit.
Tofu of a new onion.
Coleslaw of spring vegetables.
The pickles of the plum flavor of a spikenard.

右から、

鰹のたたきのにぎり鮨。

バニラ風味の花びらゆりね。

フォアグラの出し巻き、グレープフルーツのソース。

新玉ねぎの寄せ豆腐。

春野菜のコールスロー。

うどの梅肉漬け。

Experiment success   

実験成功

I have to develop glaze of a lavender color.

うす紫色の釉薬を開発しなければなりません。

It is because the glaze which I was using until now became termination of manufacture.

今まで使っていた釉薬が廃番になったからです。

I experimented based on experience of the past one.

私は過去の経験に基づき実験を行いました。

The good color came out.

いい色です。

The plate which applied this glazewill be completed tomorrow .

明日この釉薬を塗った皿が焼きあがります。

東京での桜茶会です。

My work (tea bowl of six gourds) appeared in the 3rd.

私の作品の六瓢の茶碗が三碗目に登場しました。

This is the tea ceremony of the style which sits on the chair by Mr. Randy.

こちらはランディーさんによ る立礼席です。

The tools used for this also had many cherry blossoms.

道具類は桜尽くしでした。

The talk changes,

What I am now worried about is lavender from a cherry tree.

話は変わり、

今私が心配しているのは、桜よりもラベンダーです。

I am going to report the reason tomorrow.

明日その理由を報告します。

I went to the cherry-blossoms tea ceremony of Tokyo yesterday.

昨日は東京の桜茶会に行きました。

The place was Hotel Okura of Akasaka.

場所は赤坂のホテルオークラです。

I ate lunch first.

先ず点心を食べに行ったのでした。

I was surprised.

ビックリ。

This tableware for sliced raw fishes was made in my studio.

このお刺身の器は私の窯の商品です。

I turned this just to make sure.

念のためひっくり返しました。

That was right too.

やっぱりそうでした。

I felt wonderful connection

私は不思議な縁を感じました。

I went to drink powdered green tea after that.

その後お茶席に行くのですが、

I will report this tomorrow.

This morning -- I went to the Kyoto fine-arts club.

今朝京都美術倶楽部に行きました。

It was  the tea ceremony of Ms. Ueno of the Otsuka staff.

大塚社中の上野さんのお茶会です。

I went to Tokyo after that.

その後私は東京へ移動。

Moreover, I will report this tomorrow.

また明日報告します。

I made the clay of Jurakudai today.

今日は聚楽第の土の精製です。

This is matched with the volcanic ashes of Sakurajima.

これを桜島の火山灰とマッチングさせます。

I fell today.

こけちゃいました。

I dropped the work.

作品を落としたのです。

It was 20 teacups.

湯呑を２０個です。

These were total destructions.

全滅です。

It became useless for 1 hour.

１時間が無駄となりました。

I challenged again.

再チャレンジです。

I made these in 40 minutes.

今回はこれらを４０分で作りました。

I discovered a new technique.

新しい技法の発見です。

I fell and thought that it was good.

こけて良かったです。

Retirement  

引退

I seceded from the local Sennyu-ji pottery young people association today.

本日をもって私の地元の泉涌寺陶磁器青年会を退会しました。

Although I thought that I would continue to a slight degree,

I was having asked for the chairman of the board of directors of a parent association

next year,

and seceded from the young people association.

もう少し続けようと思いましたが、

来年度の親組合の理事長になる話もあり、

このような判断を下しました。

When I drink alcohol, my feeling has what becomes bold in my bad peculiarity.

私の悪い癖でお酒を飲むと気が大きくなることがあります。

I said to Chairman Mitani of the Kyoto traditional-handicrafts young people association, yesterday.
I said next year that I became the chairman.

昨日も京都伝統産業青年会の三谷会長に

私が来年度の会長に就任すると言ってしまいました。

There is a wish from the young men's association chief to a parent union president.

青年会長から親組合理事長へのお願いというものがあります。

It is strange to entreat me from me.

私から私にお願いはおかしいですね。

This is strange although I am a multiple personality.

多重人格の私でもこれは変です。

Last Supper   

最後の晩餐

It is the Last Supper of Shijo Kyoto Machiya today.

今日は四条京町屋の最後の晩餐です。

Because, the contract of the Kyoto traditional-handicrafts young men's association's office was an end in today.

というのは京都伝統産業青年会の事務所の契約が本日をもって

終了となりました。

Since it was the last day, we cooked rice with firewood.

最後の日なので薪でご飯を炊きました。

We ate sukiyaki.

すき焼きパーティーの始まりです。

It is a sausage of the form of the fan which my children do not eat.

私の子供が食べない扇型ソーセージも登場しました。

This is the wine which Mr. Yoshida of a gourmet's Buddhist-instruments store brought.

グルメの仏具屋吉田さんが持ってきたワインです。

This wine matched sukiyaki.

すき焼きに合いましたよ。

 When the chairman, Mr. Mitani, does a key, it is the end of an event.

三谷会長が鍵をしてイベント終了です。
