昨日はランディーチャネルさんの除夜釜へ行きました。

 I went to the tea ceremony of Mr. Randy's New Year's Eve yesterday.

今回で5回連続の参加となります。

I am participation of five consecutive times in this time.

大宗匠のお軸は、

「無事是好年」です。

（その時の一事一事を精一杯やること、これこそが「無事」という意味です。）

The hanging scroll which Daisosho wrote.
"It will be a desirable year if we do our best."

さて今日は朝早くから洗車です。

And I washed a car early in the morning today.

というのは毎年大晦日は洗車場は混み合います。

New Year's Eve is because a car wash is crowded every year.

「先んずれば人を制す」ですね。

It is "first come, first served."
"Take the lead, and you will win."

そして今日の日中の京都はドカ雪。

Kyoto of daytime is heavy snow .

朝早く行動して正解でした。

I was glad that I acted early in the morning.

（明日も新年０：００からロクロを回します。）

昨日は工房の大掃除でした。

I did the general cleaning of my studio yesterday.

また気持ちを切り替え仕事に励もうと思うのですが...。

I switch a feeling and strive for work.

本来なら今年の6月にはハワイのレストランが開店の予定でした。

The restaurant in Hawaii must have been opened in the first schedule in June, this year.

しかしながら、未だ開店はしておりません。

However, the restaurant has not been opened yet.

多くの無駄とも思える時間とお金が使われました。

Excessive time and money were used.

でもそれは決して無駄ではなく、

私達は逆にかけがえのないものを手に入れたのです。

But we got that irreplaceable.

それは「絆」です。

It is "strong bond."

一年前私達はNanzanとGiroGiroでした。

 しかしこの一年でNanzan GiroGiroになったのです。

We were Nanzan and Giro Giro one year ago.
But we are Nanzan GiroGiro now.

昨日枝魯枝魯に行き、枝國さん、松本さん、ダイさん、

祇園かにかくにの家族の方などなどの笑顔に触れることが出来,

来年への希望が湧いてきました。

I went to Gilo Gilo yesterday.

I was able to meet with many smiling faces yesterday.

Mr. Edakuni, Mr. Matsumoto, Mr. Dai, the family of Kanikakuni.

And I was able to hope to next year.

さあ今日から来年に向けて、

綺麗になった工房で作品を作り出します。

Now, I make a work from today in the studio which became beautiful towards next year.

今日私は大塚先生の夜咄の茶事に行きました。

I participated in the tea ceremony of night today.
It is the Otsuka instructor's tea ceremony.

今日の灯りは全て蝋燭です。

All today's lighting is candles.

（上の写真を明るくするとこうなります。）

まさしく江戸時代にタイムスッリプです。

We did the time slip to the Edo period.

電気のない時代の人々は大変だったのでしょうね。

でも全てがはっきり見えないのも、それはそれでいいんじゃないでしょうか。

I think that the time when we do not have electricity was serious.
However, I thought that it was also good for all to be unable to be seen.

今日クリスマスカードが送られてきました。

The Christmas card was mailed to me today.

そこで大変なことに気付いたのです。

I have noticed the serious thing.

私は今年まだクリスマスカードを送っていません。

I have not mailed the Christmas card yet.

１５年間毎年送っていたのに！

I had sent the Christmas card every year during 15 years.

完全に気持ちがとんでいました。

My feeling was completely another.

まあ色んなことが重なりましたからね。

I had various things this year.

クリスマスカードを年賀に変えます。

I change a Christmas card to a New Year's card.

Nanzan GiroGiroを検索してみました。

I searched nanzan girogiro.

すると面白いサイトを発見！！

I found the interesting site.

ギロギロの松本さんは私の知らないところでも頑張ってますね。

Mr. Matsumoto is doing his best in the
situation where I do not know.

2月オープン予定。

It will be open in February.

ハワイNanzan GiroGiroのオープンまであと５０日ぐらいです。

Probably it is 50 more days to opening of Hawaii Nanzann GiriGiro.

私は高校時代にアントニオ猪木のファンになりました。

I became Antonio Inoki's fan at the time of a high school student.

当時から世界で活躍する日本人が好きだったのです。

I liked the Japanese who plays an active part in the world from that time.

そんなことで最初はジャイアント馬場さんが好きでしたが、

アントニオ猪木がモハメド・アリと試合をしたことにより、

興味がそそられるようになったのです。

Although I liked Giant Baba better than Inoki at first, since Inoki fought with Muhammad Ali, I took to him.

猪木さんが世界一有名なボクサーと試合をしたことは、

彼の人生を変えるとともに私の性格も変えてしまいました。

 That he fights with the boxer most famous for the world changed his life.And my character was also changed simultaneously.

私は高校時代よくアントニオ猪木の物まねをして、

学校で少しだけ注目されるようになり、

自分に自信が湧いてきたのです。

I aped Inoki in my high school student days, and became somewhat famous in school.

それから内気だった私は何にでも積極的にチャレンジするようになっていきました。

Bashful I acquire confidence and came to challenge various things.

今私はアントニオ猪木に憧れ、世界に羽ばたこうとチャレンジしてますが、

猪木さんと同じように借金もしました。

And now, in order to flap me in the world, I did the immense debt like Inoki.

（ここは物まねしなくてもよかったのですが...。　　まあ投資、投資です。

　年末枝魯枝魯の枝國さんがパリから帰ってくるので、愛情のこもった

　アリキックを一発ぶちかましてやります。）

私の地元の組合（京都青窯会協同組合）は

来年「祇園かにかくに」で新年会をします。

My local association is due to hold a New Year's party next year in Gion Kanikakuni.

そしてその時の乾杯用のお酒は、

京都伏見の日本酒を使います。

The alcohol of a toast uses the sake of Kyoto Fushimi.

伏見酒造組合は乾杯用の日本酒を

無料で提供してくれます。

（基本はホテルでの宴会ですが、もみじまつり等の関係で

　今回は御無理を聞いていただきました。）

Fushimi brewing association offers the sake for the toast.

この試みというのは日本酒の普及を目的としています。

It is for the spread of sake.

京都の文化である伏見の清酒。

私達京焼と共に発展していきたいですね！！

Sake of Fushimi which is the culture of Kyoto.
We would like to develop with "sake of Fushimi", and "Kyoto ceramic ware."

 １２月の枝魯枝魯の揚げ物です。

It is the tempura of Giro Giro in December.

堀川牛蒡の天ぷら。

本諸子の天ぷら。

百合根の唐揚げです。

Tempura of the Horikawa burdock root.
Tempura of willow gudgeon.
A deep-fried lily bulb

さて、今色々な結果報告を待っている状態です。

Now, I am waiting for the report of various results.

例えば、

ハワイのこと（ビザ取得の件など）。

陶磁器の仕事のこと（来年の大きな仕事の件など）。

For example, the affair of the visa of Hawaii and the affair of the work with next year.

まだまだ沢山結果報告を待っているものがあるのですが...。

I have truly many affairs for which it should wait.

まあやるべきことはやったので、

今さら焦ったりくよくよしても仕方がありませんね。

However, I did my best.
I do not need to get impatient or do not need to fret over it.

世の中なるようにしかならないので、

またなった時に考えますわ！

（ちょっと頭を休めた方が良いでしょう。）

今日は西村宗玖先生のお茶会へ行きました。

I went to Ms. Nishimura Sokyu's tea ceremony today.

「庭寒月色深」

（庭寒くして、月色深し）

Since it is cold in the yard, the moon is visible to a still deeper color.

利茶土（リチャード）さんの花入です。

This is Richard's vase.

今日のお道具やお菓子には、

星、

雪だるま、

クリスマス等が使われました。

The tool and sweets which were prepared today.
Star.
Snowman.
Christmas.

今の日本には季節感がありません。

Present Japan does not have a sense of the season.

しかしながら、茶道の世界は別（本物の日本）です。

However, there is a sense of the season in the world of the tea ceremony.

私は師走を体感しています。

I am feeling December.  

12月の枝魯枝魯のメイン料理（くずし）です。

It is a main dish in December of Giro Giro.

蕪釜（内に白味噌田楽）。

鴨ロース、バルサミコ辛子ダレ。

くもこの天婦羅。

おたふく菜のすり流し。

稲穂の唐揚げ。

It is white miso to a turnip.
It is balsamic to duck sirloins.
Tempura of the milt of codfish.
The sauce of Otafuku vegetable.
A deep-fried ear of rice

さて、先ほど現在ハワイに滞在中の

ギロギロの松本さんから写真が送られてきました。

Now, the photograph has sent from Mr. Matsumoto under stay to Hawaii now.

抹茶椀も無事到着しています。

The powdered-green-tea bowl has also arrived safely.

我々の夢がもうすぐ現実になります。

Our dream is likely to become actual at last.

（パリの枝國さん同様、私も日本で頑張って

　最後の詰めの資金を送ることに全力投球です！！）

一昨日祇園かにかくにの安田さん達と

杉本彩さんのディナーショーに行ってきました。

I went to Ms. Aya Sugimoto's dinner show together with Mr. Yasuda of Gion Kanikakuni and others the day before yesterday.

この2カ月で3回杉本さんとお会いしてます。（彼女と同級生の安田さんのご紹介で）

I met Ms. Aya Sugimoto 3 times in two months recently.

ショーの最後に杉本さんがタンゴを踊りながら

ステージから客席に降りてきて私達を発見しました。

While Aya danced the tango at the last of show, she got down to the seat and discovered us.

そして彼女は自分の顔を私の顔に急接近させたのでした。

And she made my face carry out sudden approach of her face.

私の持論ですが...。

 Although it is my theory --

芸術家は先ず体感。

An artist's work is felt first.

そして技術を使っての表現。

And expression using techniques.

これからの私の作品は色気のある艶やかな焼物になっていくと思います。

I think that my work will be a fascinating thing with sex appeal from now on.

The color of the flower of money is cleanly white -- but, a bud is red as blood spread, and there is the smell of sweat in the scent.

今Nanzan GiroGiro　のスタッフは、正念場をむかえています。

The staff of Nanzan GiroGiro has greeted the critical moment now.

来年ハワイでささやかながらも、清らかな銭の花を咲かせてみせます。

We will make bloom and show the flower of small money in Hawaii next year.

今日は待ちに待った京都外国語大学での講義の日でした。

I gave a lecture at the Kyoto foreign language university today.

講義内容は「京都の文化論」です。

The subject was "The cultural theory of Kyoto."

違ったグイノミでの利き酒実施！！

This is tasting of the alcohol using different pottery.

そこで今日の結論はというと、

 The conclusion of today's lecture.

京都の工芸家は京都の文化人（茶人、華人、料理人、etc．）

の要求に応える必要があります。

The craftsman of Kyoto needs to meet the demand of the people of culture (masters of the tea ceremony, flower arrangement people, cooks, etc.) of Kyoto.

それにはお互いの信頼関係が不可欠なのは

言うまでもありませんが...。

 A mutual confidential relation is indispensable to it.

（ぎろぎろの松本さんとハワイの店で使用する器の相談を

していた頃が今となっては懐かしいです。）

今日は電気窯で樂焼に挑戦です。

I challenged Raku today using electric kiln.

結果は後日報告します。

I am going to report this result later.

12月の枝魯枝魯のお造りです。

It is the sliced raw fish in December of Giro Giro.

ボタン海老とブロッコリー。

鰤を赤蕪の千枚漬けで巻いたもの。

セコ蟹の親子和え。

A botan shrimp and broccoli. A female snow crab.
This rolls a yellowtail by a red turnip.

さてさて、昨日紹介した京焼の名工は

江戸時代の人々です。

Now, now, the ceramists of Kyoto whom I introduced yesterday are people of the Edo period.

このように京都には古くから著名な陶芸家が存在します。

Famous ceramists exist in Kyoto from ancient times.

その理由の一つに京都の歴史と地域性があげられます。

The reason is in the regionality of Kyoto.

皇族・貴族・寺院・文化人（数寄者）との交流。

Exchange with the Imperial Families and aristocrats, or temples and men of culture.

これらが陶芸家の金看板（ブランド）となりました。

These became the ceramist's brand.

そしてこの金看板が陶芸家に向上心を与え、

名工を育てていったのでした。

And the brand raised ceramists' technical capabilities.

しかし明治維新によって京都の情勢も変化し、

京都の陶芸家達も方向性を変えざるおえなくなりました。

However, the situation of Kyoto changed from the Meiji Restoration and ceramists' directivity changed.

でも私は京都の陶芸家というものは、もう一度原点に帰って、

京都の色んな方々と交流を持つべきだと思うのですが...。

I think the ceramist of Kyoto as it having to return to the starting point.

京焼の初期の名工。

The prominent and excellent craftsman in early stages of Kyoto ceramic ware.

野々村仁清。

尾形乾山。

奥田頴川。

初代清水六兵衛。

高橋道八。

青木木米。

欽古堂亀祐。

Ninsei Nonomura.
Kenzan Ogata.
Eisen Okuda . First Rokubei Kiyomizu.

彼らには共通の特徴があります。

 They have the common feature.

彼らは焼物の名家の出生ではありません。

They are not the birth of the distinguished family of pottery.

彼らには文人の知人がいました。

They had a demand of a man of culture.

彼らは時代の流れに敏感でした。

They were sensitive to fashion of a time.

そして彼らは京都の焼きものに

新しい血を注ぎました。

And they filled Kyoto ceramic ware with new blood.

（私は３代目ですが、気持ちは初代です。）

来週の火曜日に大学で講義をします。

I am going to give a lecture in a university at Tuesday of next week .

京都外国語大学です。

The university is Kyoto Foreign language University .

私以外の特別講師です。

They are other lecturers of mine.

約２００人の前で講義する予定です。

I am going to give a lecture to about 200 persons.

さてと今日から予習します。

From now on, I prepare my lesson.

もちろん当日はウケを狙ってます。

Of course, I expect impression.

ハワイのレストランで使う暖簾です。

These are the shop curtains used at the restaurant in Hawaii.

（京都の山本染匠さんに麻を染めてもらいました。）

５メートルあります。

これを１２使います。（ダイさんのにくい演出です。）

A length of one sheet is 5m.

12 of these are used.

おもりのパイプは京都青年団体会議で一緒だった

八川さんにお願いしました。

I placed an order for this pipe to Mr. Hachikawa who worked with me at the Kyoto young people's association object meeting.

皆さんこの暖簾が下がっている店の様子を

ぜひ想像してみてください。

Please imagine at a restaurant the scene where this shop curtain hangs down.

姫クワイ。

金柑釜（あん肝もろみ漬け、小松菜、いくら）。

牡蠣フライに牛蒡と沢庵のタルタル。

南瓜たいたんに松の実のソース、桜エビ。

春菊のおからの東寺巻。

大根饅頭。

Princess arrowhead.

Kumquat pot (the liver of the angler fish, Chinese cabbage, salmon caviar).

It is the tartar sauce of a burdock root and pickled Japanese radish to deep-fried oysters.

They are sauce of pine nuts, and a spotted shrimp to what boiled the Japanese pumpkin.

The To-ji volume of the tofu lees of garland chrysanthemum.  

12月の枝魯枝魯の献立です。

It is the menu of Giro Giro in December.

「いも棒」です。

This is "Imobou."

棒ダラ、海老芋、菜種、刻み柚子です。

Dry codfish,Ebi yam,
Rapeseed,The minced yuzu citron.

蒸し蓮根入りの椀です。

This is the soup containing the steamed lotus root.

出汁はシジミ。

蒸し蓮根には白味噌が入っています。

This soup has taken broth from the freshwater clam.

 The lotus root is minced finely and mixed with white miso.

昨日と今日も忘年会です。

I participated in the year-end party yesterday and today also.

昨日は京都市陶磁器研究会の忘年会で、

私達は新しく建った京都市産業技術研究所の見学もあわせて行いました。

It was a year-end party of the Kyoto pottery study group yesterday.

We also did inspection of the newly built Kyoto industrial technique research institute.

ここは新しい窯業科の実習室です。

This is a practical room of the department of pottery industry of the new Kyoto examination site.

数年後私の子供がここで研修をするかもしれません。

（本音はして欲しいですが。）

My child may be given training after several years here.

そして今日は枝魯枝魯での忘年会。

また明日報告します！！

And it was a year-end party in Giro Giro today.
Moreover, I will report tomorrow.

昨日は「京都信用金庫ジュニアオーナーズクラブ」の

OBの忘年会に行ってきました。

I participated in the year-end party of alumnus of the meeting of the junior owner of the Kyoto Shinkin Bank yesterday.

会費の半分はコンパニオン代です。

The half of the fee was companion girl cost.

そのコンパニオンなんですが、ほとんどが

私の長女と同世代！！

They are as contemporary as my eldest daughter.

やはりどうしても会話は親の立場になってしまうんですね。

I talked in parents' position.

そしてその場を離れ、

帰宅したのが９時３０分。

And I went home at 9:30.

今日も帰宅時間とハイボールには要注意です。

I am cautious of going-home time and a highball today also.

さてさて今月の私の予定はというと、

Now, my schedule at this month --

12月15日ハワイの　レストラン＆ギャラリー

「NANZAN GIROGIRO」のオープン。

と言いたいところですが、

残念ながら遅れて来年2月ぐらいの

開店になりそうです？

Although I would like to say that the restaurant in Hawaii is scheduled to open, though regrettable, I expect opening in February.

ということでホノルルマラソンもキャンセルしました。

Therefore, I cancel the Honolulu marathon.

しかしながら現在別に重要な仕事が

進行中であります。

また後日報告するのでお楽しみにしててくださいね。
