今日は地域振興の活動をしている大学生のイベントに行きました。

I went to the college student's event today.
College students are promoting the area.

ちなみに私の息子ももうすぐ大学生です。

Incidentally my son will also be a college student soon.

先日息子が「大学に陶芸サークルがあるかな？」

と言ってました。

He said the other day.
"Does a university have a ceramic art circle?"

ちょっと嬉しかったですね！

I was somewhat glad.

私が学生の時次の言葉に出会いました。

When I was a college student, I met with this language.

「青は藍より出でて、藍より青し」

"Scholar may be better than the master"

（青色の染料は、藍という原料から取れるが、ほおっておいても染料は取れない。だが、難しい工程（こうてい） （人間でいう教育や努力）があれば、藍から取れた染料の青さは原料の藍よりも濃く、鮮（あざ） やかである。）

私はこの言葉を胸に、父を越えようと日々頑張ってます。

" I strive every day to exceed my father.

さてもうすぐ私は父が他界した年齢になろうとしています。

I will become the age of which my father passed away soon.

早く父に追いつき、息子の目標とならないと......。

I have to catch up with my father early, and have to become my son's target.

信楽写しのサンプルが出来ました。

The sample of the Shigaraki ware model was made.

まさしく試行錯誤の１２日間でした。

It was for 12 days of trial and error.

次は器に応用したいですね。

I would like to apply this to tableware next.

さて今回はバドワイザーの大きさという注文でした。

Now, it was the order of the size equal to Budweiser this time.

（そこでビールの話題を！）

ハワイでは日本のビール（缶）を多く見かけます。

There is also a lot of Japanese beer in Hawaii.

しかしながらNanzan GiroGiroでは日本の生ビールをお出しします。

However, there is Japanese draft beer in Hawaii Nanzan Girogiro.

ハワイで飲む生。　最高です！！

The draft beer drunk in Hawaii is very delicious.  

今日私の町内の次期三役選挙が行われました。

There was next officers election of my neighborhood today.

私の町内会長の任期もあと一カ月です。

The term of office of my neighborhood chairman is also one more month.

会長としての２年間はあっという間でした。

It was an instant for two years.

でもハワイ事業のこの２年間は長かったですね。

But it was long for two years of the affair of Hawaii.

２年後ハワイで「あっという間だった。」と言いたいところです。

As for Hawaii, I wish that the following two years will be short period of time.

ハワイのNanzan GiroGiroのエントランスに置く花器です。

This is a flower vase put on the entrance of the restaurant in Hawaii.

黒の釉薬を塗ってます。

I have applied black glaze.

そしてオパールを散らす予定です。

And I am going to scatter an opal to this.

3月になればいよいよ開店へのカウントダウンです。

It is the start of countdown when March comes.

（今度こそ本当に本当です。） 

焼物は粘土からだと乾燥して焼成すると約１５～１７％収縮します。

Pottery will be contracted about 15 to 17%, if it dries and calcinates.

この白い分だけ縮みます。

This white portion is shrunk.

口径もこんなに縮みます。

A caliber is also shrunk like this.

陶芸家は予め収縮を計算して焼物を作ります。

Ceramists calculate it beforehand and make pottery.

また上の作品のような形は縁が垂れ下がります。

If such a form is burned, it will hang down.

それは熱と引力によるものです。

 It is based on heat and universal gravitation.

この垂れ下がりに関しては経験と想像力で縁を上げます。

About this, experience and imagination are required.

今までの数多くの失敗が体にしみ込んでます。

I have repeated much failure until now.

今日のお茶のお稽古は大炉でした。

The lesson of today's tea ceremony was a large furnace.

この大炉は２月独特のセッティングです。

This Dairo is an arrangement peculiar to February.

大炉とは裏千家独自のもので、十一代玄々斎が田舎家の囲炉裏から創案されました。咄々斎の次の間六畳に逆勝手で切られており、二月の厳寒の時期にのみ炉を開きます。
普通の炉は、一尺四寸（約42.4ｃｍ）四方ですが、大炉は一尺八寸（約54.5ｃｍ）四方と大きいことから、大炉と名付けられました。（家元と一門一答より）

大きな炉が部屋を暖かくします。

Since the furnace is large, the room gets warm.

しかしながらお点前が左右逆になるので、ちょっと......。

However, the actual making of the tea becomes a right-and-left contrary.

「逆もまた真なり」ですね。

I think that We study a contrary and We get to know truth.

ちょっと意味は違うかもしれませんが、

石川遼選手は左打ちの練習をするし、

ダルビッシュ投手は左投げをしますね。

 Ryo Ishikawa practices left swing.
Darvish carries out pitching practice using a left hand.

残念ながら私はロクロの逆回転は出来ません。

But I cannot do the potter's wheel of reverse rotation.

信楽焼は自然の灰がかかってそれが釉薬となります。

Ashy glaze is used for Shigaraki ware.

これは松の灰から出来た釉薬です。

This is the glaze made from the ashes of the pine.

この釉薬に触れた後、私の手はシットリ滑らかになったのでした。

My hand became smooth after touching this.

触れる前。

触れた後。

私の場合、指先が肌荒れしていると、

特にロクロに悪影響があります。

If my fingertip is dry rough skin, my work has a bad influence.

そういう意味でも今日は本当良い発見をしました。

I found good discovery today.

（ちなみに家内にも大好評でしたよ！！

　思わず顔にまで塗ろうとしてました。

　もちろん塗ってませんけど...。）

昨日の続きです。

牡蠣のグラタン。

春菊の白味噌田楽です。

Gratin of an oyster.
White miso dengaku of garland chrysanthemum.

温かいシャリに酢締めブリ。

The boiled rice and marinated yellowtail

白菜の赤だし。

Dark-brown miso soup of Chinese cabbage.

金柑のムース。

バナナのわらび餅。

カシスとスウィ―ティーのアイス。

The mousse of a kumquat.
The bracken-starch dumpling of a banana.
Ice cream of cassis and sweety.

以上。

２月の枝魯枝魯の献立です。

It is a menu of Giro Giro in February.

白魚、菜の花、百合根の玉締めです。

This is an omelet of (noodlefish , rape blossoms, and  lily bulb).

中華あんがかかっています。

It is Chinese starchy sauce.

福豆煮。（大豆、京人参、昆布、こんにゃく、ふき）

上は納豆のソース。

(soybean, the carrot of Kyoto, sea tangle, and konnyaku -- wiping --) -- it is sauce of fermented soybeans.

鳴門湯葉巻。

Food around which the yam was wound with soy milk skin.

子持ワカサギの唐揚げ。

玉ねぎと酒粕のソース。

A deep-fried pond smelt with egg .The sauce of onion and sake lees.

のし梅。

Food which lengthened the plum.

鴨の酢煮。

The roll which boiled the duck with vinegar.

鰆幽庵焼の蕪蒸し。

The steamed turnip using the yuzu citron flavor of the Spanish mackerel.

鯛、ホッキ貝のサラダ仕立て。

ホタル烏賊の胡麻ドレッシング。

The salad of sea bream and surf clam.
The dressing of firefly squid and sesame.

淀大根、新じゃがのおでん風。

スッポンのだし汁。

Japanese pot-au-feu of a Japanese radish and a new potato.
Soup of snapping turtle.

つづく。

私の姉が言いました。

「あんたが信楽の土で陶器を作ったら、それは京焼というの？」

My elder sister said to me.
"If you make pottery using the clay of Shigaraki, does it call it Kyoto ceramic ware?"

私は「それは信楽写しやろ。」と答えました。

I answered as follows.
"It is the Shigaraki utsushi."

写しはコピーとはちょっと違います。

Utsushi differs from an English copy.

音楽で例えるなら、クラシックを演奏するようなものです。

It is like performing a classic, if it compares by music.

そして京焼の写しといえば、仁清（にんせい）、乾山（けんざん）が代表選手です。

There are Ninsei utsushi and Kenzan utsushi in Kyoto ceramic ware.

仁清の作品。

This is a work of Ninsei.

乾山の作品。

This is a work of Kenzan.

多くの陶芸家は彼らのデザインだけを写します。

Many ceramists copy only their design.

しかし私は彼らの別の物を写しています。

But I copy their another thing.

（それは彼らの陶芸家としての生き方というか...。）

指導者の意見を聞いたり、

異業種交流をしたり、

学問を身につけたり、etc．

It is hearing the opinion of a leader.
It is carrying out cross-industrial association.
It is putting on learning. etc．

（でもやっぱりこれが一番！！）

オリジナリティーの追求です。

It is most important to pursue originality.

先ずは手びねりです。

I piled up clay with my finger today.

それにしても、京焼の人間が信楽焼を作る...。

たとえて言うなら、演歌歌手がジャズを歌うようなものです。

It is like a Japanese traditional ballad singer singing jazz that the craftsman of Kyoto ceramic ware makes Shigaraki ware.

でも超一流は壁を超えるのですね！！（目標はより高くです。）

But a person of the very first rank exceeds the wall

昨日私の甥が信楽でお土産を買いました。

My nephew bought a souvenir in Shigaraki yesterday.

丁稚羊羹です。

It was "apprentice boy sweet bean paste."

昔丁稚さん達が故郷のお土産として買ったのが名前の由来だそうです。

Apprentice boys  bought it as a souvenir a long time ago.

それは竹の皮に包まれ（抗菌作用があり）薄い（持ち運びに便利）です。

しかしながらここ信楽の丁稚羊羹はちょっと違います。

However, the apprentice boy sweet bean paste here is different.

水羊羹です。

It is sweet jellied bean paste.

小豆と砂糖と寒天のみで作られています。

This is made from azuki bean, sugar, and agar.

シンプルで飽きない味ですよ。

This is a taste which is simple and continues.

人間もシンプルがいいですね！！

Simple is the best.

先日私に信楽焼写しの発注がありました。

I had the order of the Shigaraki ware style the other day.

というわけで今日は信楽に市場調査です。

I went to Shigaraki by such a reason today.

決してタヌキを作るわけではありません。

But I do not make a raccoon dog.

一輪生けのオーダーです。

I am going to make small flower vases

そしてその大きさはバドワイザーぐらいという要望です。

They are sizes like Budweiser.

 よって今私はバドワイザーを飲んでいます。

Therefore, I am drinking Budweiser now.

明日は私の次女の高校受験です。

My second daughter will be a schedule of a high school entrance examination tomorrow.

彼女は美術系の高校が希望です。

She wishes the high school of a fine-arts system.

そこで私と二人で昨年の4月に美術の予備校を訪ねました。

I and she called at the fine-arts preparatory school in April, last year.

（スケッチ、デッサンは基本！！受験は別にして将来生かされます。）

さて親として何がしてやれるのか？

What I should do?

一生懸命働いて経済的、精神的バックアップをしてあげるしかないです。

I have to do my work hard.

（子を持って知る親の恩です。）

昨日紹介した青木選手に逆転されたジャックレナー選手。

Jack Renner who is the player reversed by Mr. Aoki at golf Hawaiian open.

次の年同じ大会で優勝しています。

He won the victory in the same game at the following year.

悔しさが未来の糧になります。

Humiliation becomes the manure of the future.

昨日私は憧れのワイアラエ　カントリークラブに行きました。

I went to waialae country club of yearning yesterday.

思い出します。このシーン！！

昨日は現場での打ち合せ後、

初めてハワイのゴルフ練習場に行きました。

I went to the driving range in Hawaii for the first time yesterday.

ここはのどかな良い雰囲気です。

It is a comfortable atmosphere here.

私は６ドルで十分楽しめました。（入場料金もないし！）

I was able to enjoy myself for 6 dollars.

そして夕食は建築家の穂波夫妻とステーキハウスHy'sへ...。

Supper was together with builder's Honami husband and wife.

It is Hy's of a steak restaurant here.

エスカルゴです。

This is escargot.  

アメリカンビーフが炭火で焼かれます。

American beef is roasted by a charcoal fire.

このステーキは油分が少ないのにジューシーです。

Although this steak has little oil, it is juicy.

私の好みでこれは推薦です。

This is my liking.I also recommend this restaurant.

昨日のホノルルは雨でした。

Honolulu rained yesterday.

私と松本さん夫婦は日本料理の「Miyako」へ...。

I and Matsumoto husband and wife went to the Japanese restaurant "Miyako."

ウニを牛肉で巻いた料理です。

This is the dish which rolled the sea urchin over beef.

牡蠣の天丼です。

This is a tempura bowl of oysters.

食事後私たちは大きなマーケットへ...。

We went to the big market after that.

商品が超低価格です。

Goods are very cheap here.

私はここでお土産を買いましたが、お勧めです。

I bought my souvenir here.
I recommend this market.

ちなみにこれは昨日アラモアナで買ったゴルフの本です。

This is the book which I bought yesterday.
This is the rulebook of golf.

やはり興味のあるものが一番身に付きますね！

I think that interested thing becomes myself power.
 

予定変更です。

今日６日にハワイから帰る予定でしたが、

都合で３日間滞在を延長します。

Although I was last schedule about Hawaii today,

The day is postponed for three days.

そして今日はアラモアナショッピングセンターへ...。

I went to Ala Moana Shopping Center today.  

フードコーナーは大繁盛です。

Hood corners are many people.

今日の私の昼食はカレーです。

And I ate curry and rice.

ココ壱です。（カキフライカレー）

It is Cocoichi here.
This is deep-fried-oysters curry.

（ちなみにココ壱京都七条店は京都陶磁器連合会事務局の佐野さんお勧めです。）

さてと日曜なのでこれから本でも読みます。

もちろん英語の本？ですよ！！

Now, I am going to read a book after this.
Of course, it is an English book.

夜のカラカウア通りです。

It is the Kalakaua avenue of night.

盛り上がっています。

There are very many people here.

確かカラカウアに去年はアップルはなかったような...。

（間違ってたらごめんなさい。）

I have remembered that there was no apple shop here.

とりあえず人は去年の７月より多いです。

There were more people than July, last year.

（常にハワイは変革しています。）

昨日私たちは銀行、計理士さん事務所に行き、話し合いをしました。

We talked in the bank and the accountant's office yesterday.

そしてその後裏千家ハワイ協会の中山さん邸での昼食会へと移動。

And we were invited to the home party in the house of Mr. and Mrs. Nakayama of the Hawaii Urasenke association.

ハワイのレストランで使う抹茶（祇園辻利特製）の試飲会の開始です。

It is the sample of the powdered green tea used at the restaurant in Hawaii.

虎屋の羊羹です。

These are the sweet bean paste of Toraya.

とても美味しいお抹茶でした。

皆さんもぜひハワイで一服お飲みください。

This powdered green tea was very delicious.

さて夕食なんですが......、

リカーライセンスを取得していな居酒屋だったので、

お酒は酒屋で購入しての持ち込みです。

Although it was supper, since it was a restaurant without a liquor license, we buy alcohol in a liquor store and bring alcohol to a restaurant.

今日松本さんがリカーライセンス取得のため、

公聴会に出席します。

Mr. Matsumoto is going to attend the public hearing of a liquor license today.

（一つずつ壁を乗り越えていってます。）

今回ハワイに来ている目的は、リカーライセンスの取得のためで、

私と枝國さんは指紋の押捺を行いました。

Now, this purpose is for acquisition of a liquor license.
I and Mr. Edakuni stamped our fingerprint.

そして弁護士さん、建築業者さんとも打ち合せをして、

プロジェクトは少しずつですが順調に進んでいます。

And we made arrangements with the lawyer.
We made arrangements also with the builder.
Our project is going smoothly gradually.

さて次に美味しかったものを紹介します。

Next, I introduce the delicious food

冷麺です。

This is Korean-style buckwheat noodles.

いつも枝國さんと食事をしますが、彼の嗅覚はとても敏感です。

Although I always have a meal together with Mr. Edakuni, his sense of smell is very sensitive.

彼の天性と努力でしょう。

Probably, they are nature and efforts.

ハワイの報告です。

It is the report of Hawaii.

初日の夕食は、枝國さんと松本夫妻とで

ロブスターレストランへ。

The supper of the first day was a restaurant of the lobster.

Members were me, Mr. Edakuni, and Mr. and Mrs. Matsumoto.

チャーハンはこれで一人前です。

This fried rice is a plate for one person.

栄養を付けて私たちは二日目自分たちのレストランへ。

Now, we went to our restaurant today.

これらは私の作品が乗る展示台です。

These are the exhibition stands of my work.

クリエイターとしてのやる気が出てきました。

As for me, the motivation came out as a creator.

ハワイに到着しました。

I arrived in Hawaii.

こちらと日本の時差は１９時間。（ハワイが遅いです。）

The present time is [ 19 hours ] behind Japan.

３１日の月曜日は日本では思いっきり二日酔いだったので、

もう一度こちらで月曜日をやり直します。

Since it was a hangover on Monday in Japan, I live Monday once again.
